Dove Hunt 2025

The 2025 Dove Hunt is filling up fast, but not quite full! The registration form will auto-disable when we hit the max, so you can still secure your spot as long as the signup form is active!
The annual dove hunt is all-inclusive. Your registration fee covers your lodging, all your food & drinks (non-alcoholic), and all costs for the field leases and guides. Our guides even clean all the birds — we just shoot ’em and bag ’em!
Four hunts are included — both morning and evening, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday and Saturday night will feature live music and a message, with food catered by someplace fantastic. We leave Sunday open (nothing officially planned) so that guys can feel free to head home any time Sunday; not necessary to stay through the Sunday evening hunt if you need to get back early.
All you need to bring is your hunting license, shotgun, and however many shells you need (some guys need a lot more shells than others). Helpful info on hunting license & shells here.
If you don’t own a shotgun, please reach out to me before registering. We usually have plenty of extra shotguns, but just give me a heads-up and let me confirm we’ll have one for you before you sign up.
We’re staying in Concan and hunting in nearby Uvalde (the primo dove destination).
Top-notch accommodations: The condos we’re staying at are awesome (see photo) — a swimming pool, and tons of room outdoors and in (lots of bedrooms, each with a bathroom). Plus we have special access to the Frio River, with rope swings and a waterslide. And we’re sure to have some cornhole, horseshoes, or other games going when not out blasting birds.

Hunting License
- Purchase hunting license online here
- At minimum you need a standard hunting license ($25) with the Migratory Game Bird Endorsement ($7)
- The Migratory Game Bird Endorsement is required for dove hunting, and it must be added separately (unless you choose the Super Combo license, which includes the Endorsement)
- If you want a paper license mailed to you, it can take up to two weeks for delivery – so don’t wait until the last minute
- Digital license is fine too; just make sure your phone is with you (with some juice in the battery) when you’re on the field hunting – if the game warden shows up, you gotta show your license, even if its digital.
Shotgun Shells
If you’re not sure what type / quantity of shells to bring:
- Shell length: 2 3/4″
- Shot size: 7 1/2
- Shot weight: 1 1/8 oz for 12 gauge; 1 oz for 20 gauge
- Quantity – I recommend at least a case (10 boxes), depending on your experience/accuracy and the number of hunts you plan to participate in. If you’re inexperienced or not sure of your accuracy, and plan to hunt all four hunts, lean towards two cases. (When the doves are really flying, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you go through a box of shells — better to have too many than not enough.)
Our Events
Men tend to build relationships with one another shoulder-to-shoulder — doing stuff together — and tend to regress into isolation without a good enough reason to get out on a regular basis. This is why men’s events are such a big part of Man Stuff Ministry. We want every dude visiting this site to always have a Man Stuff event coming up, where they can not only connect with God, but connect with other dudes too.
Creating strong bonds with other Christian men, through Scrums (small groups) or otherwise, is the ultimate goal in staying on path and maintaining spiritual growth. But regardless of whether you currently have several strong Christian friendships, or none at all, regularly attending men’s events is immensely important — a connection between men at opposite ends of that spectrum is Holy Spirit two-handed slam dunk time, guys!
- Man Skills is a monthly 2-hour session event where guys eat dinner and learn a fundamental manly skill, with each session featuring a new guest expert to teach that month’s skill.
- Wild at Heart is a 4-day weekend event that occurs two or three times a year, where men journey together in discovering their true God-given identities — which is essential for a truly free and full life.
- Man Quest is an annual weekend event with multiple guest speakers and small group discussions, each year having a specific theme to stimulate our thoughts and conversations, shift our perceptions, and draw us closer to Jesus.
- The Annual Dove Hunt is an all-inclusive south Texas dove hunting weekend, with chill accommodations, great food, plus a message and live music each night.
- Iron Fire Jesus is a new blacksmithing weekend event, where each man forges his own blade under the instruction of a professional bladesmith. As we transform these impure hunks of steel, so we are being transformed.
- Scrums are Man Stuff Ministry’s version of men’s small groups, which are more than just Bible study groups. Scrums are tightly-knit, moving together in unity, relying on each other, in pursuit of all being disciples of Jesus. If you’re not in a Scrum yet, sign up to be a part of the next one in your area.
