Becoming a King is a new weekend event based on Morgan Snyder’s book of the same name, with all new session material produced by the Wild at Heart team. Think of it as a next-level follow-up to the Wild at Heart Weekend (pretty much all that needs to be said for most Man Stuff Ministry dudes).
With the WAH weekend being so impactful for many Man Stuff Ministry guys over the last few years, I’m crazy excited to see what God has in store with this new next-level deep dive!
What is a Becoming a King Retreat?
The Becoming a King retreat is a transformational men’s event curated and distilled over decades by Morgan Snyder and the Wild at Heart team. Through powerful video sessions, interactive story groups, and a guided rhythm of engagement, reflection, and relationship, the BAK retreat immerses you and the men in your community in this transforming message.
Every boy knows he was made to be powerful. Yet the headlines often confirm what we know too well from our own stories: the anguished consequences of masculine power gone awry.
Masculinity is in need of restoration. But what is the way, and how can we find it?
The Becoming a King retreat provides a sacred context to explore the path and process of becoming transformed men God can gladly entrust with power and the care of his Kingdom. During this experience, you will have the opportunity to pull back 50 yards from the pressures of the front lines, explore and share your story, carefully identify and tend to your wounds, recover what makes you come alive, rekindle curiosity, joy, and hope, and strengthen your soul for the seasons ahead within a multi-generational masculine environment that connects older, wiser guides with men who thirst for pervasive transformation.

We’ll be done early afternoon Sunday (by 2 PM)
We’ll of course be doing some skeet shooting Saturday afternoon — always fun but totally optional. If you want in on that, please select the $325 “Event + Skeet” payment option when you register.

Our Events
Men tend to build relationships with one another shoulder-to-shoulder — doing stuff together — and tend to regress into isolation without a good enough reason to get out on a regular basis. This is why men’s events are such a big part of Man Stuff Ministry. We want every dude visiting this site to always have a Man Stuff event coming up, where they can not only connect with God, but connect with other dudes too.
Creating strong bonds with other Christian men, through Scrums (small groups) or otherwise, is the ultimate goal in staying on path and maintaining spiritual growth. But regardless of whether you currently have several strong Christian friendships, or none at all, regularly attending men’s events is immensely important — a connection between men at opposite ends of that spectrum is Holy Spirit two-handed slam dunk time, guys!
- Man Skills is a monthly 2-hour session event where guys eat dinner and learn a fundamental manly skill, with each session featuring a new guest expert to teach that month’s skill.
- Wild at Heart is a 4-day weekend event that occurs two or three times a year, where men journey together in discovering their true God-given identities — which is essential for a truly free and full life.
- Becoming a King is a next-level dive into becoming men of God’s Kingdom, from the Wild at Heart team. Man Stuff Ministry’s inaugural 3-day weekend event is January 23rd!
- Man Quest is an annual weekend event with multiple guest speakers and small group discussions, each year having a specific theme to stimulate our thoughts and conversations, shift our perceptions, and draw us closer to Jesus.
- The Annual Dove Hunt is an all-inclusive south Texas dove hunting weekend, with chill accommodations, great food, plus a message and live music each night.
- Iron Fire Jesus is a new blacksmithing weekend event, where each man forges his own blade under the instruction of a professional bladesmith. As we transform these impure hunks of steel, so we are being transformed.
- Scrums are Man Stuff Ministry’s version of men’s small groups, which are more than just Bible study groups. Scrums are tightly-knit, moving together in unity, relying on each other, in pursuit of all being disciples of Jesus. If you’re not in a Scrum yet, sign up to be a part of the next one in your area.
